saturday morning practice: the sun warms me on a cool september morning. I sit on the couch playing my guitar... procrastinating the beginning of my day.

behind max and jeff: last weekend I was lucky enough to catch a couple of my favorite texas music artists. here, max stalling sings while jeff provides a beat. although blacked out by the stage lights, people sit on the grassy hill in front of the stage. max and the band put on a great outdoor show on a nice september night.

in the lights: opening for max was houston marchman. playing lead guitar and to the right of houston was gabe rhodes. attracted by the lights, a few bugs fly around gabe and the stage.

guitar blur: in the middle of playing, gabe's movements were too quick for this shot.

clear guitar: in a calmer moment, gabe picks during a solo. behind him, a lone bug flies.

houston: pretty busy at the moment, houston plays harmonica and strums his guitar. houston doesn't get to dallas much, so catching him and max together, turned out to be a great show.

max and aden: in the middle of a song, max sings and strums, while aden is busy slapping his bass.

www.caddolakestatepark.com

photographer: on my trip to caddo lake in east texas, i ran across another photographer. much more experienced than i, stefan was kind enough to share some knowledge with me. this was my first trip to caddo lake and it will not be my last. the many tall cypress trees, moss, and smooth water were perfect for boating and photography.

smooth: the tall cypress trees reflect perfectly in the mirror smooth water. this view of saw mill pond was in the direction stefan was pointing his camera. this pond also serves as the view for campers that visit caddo lake state park.

put in: looking down the bayou, i snapped this photo at the state park boat ramp. growing up in south texas with mostly brush, and now living in dallas with mostly concrete, tall trees are a thing of beauty. here, a cypress tree helped shade my camera from the sun.

tree house: during my ride down the bayou, i snapped this photo of the tree lined shores. on the far side of the water, a house peaks out of the trees.

sun light: as i finished my ride on the water, i caught the sun shining through a group of cypress trees. a good end to a good trip.
